一、 Basic Definition

Circular transparent thin films made of high-purity fused silica (SiO ₂ ≥ 99.99%), commonly known as quartz discs, quartz window discs, and high-temperature mirrors in the industry, are divided into two categories: optical grade and industrial mirror grade.


二、 Core excellent characteristics (compared to ordinary glass)

Ultimate high temperature resistance

Short term temperature resistance of 1450 ℃, long-term resistance of 1100 ℃; The coefficient of thermal expansion is only 1/20 of ordinary glass, and it is not easy to explode during sudden cooling and heating, with extremely strong resistance to thermal shock.

Full spectrum high transmittance

JGS2 (Universal UV Type): 185-2500nm UV/visible high transparency, preferred for UV devices;

JGS1: Special for deep ultraviolet; JGS3: Infrared specific;

Visible light transmittance ≥ 92%, no discoloration, no green emission, ordinary glass will block short wave ultraviolet.

high hardness and wear resistance

Mohs hardness of 7, steel knife cuts leave no marks; Ordinary glass is only 5.5 and easily scratched.

Extremely low impurities, stable insulation

No metal ion precipitation, vacuum, semiconductor, and plasma chambers will not contaminate the workpiece.


三 ,Mainstream material grading

JGS2 (most commonly used): transparent to ultraviolet and visible light, suitable for laser, laboratory, and industrial windows;

JGS1: Special for deep ultraviolet, spectrometer, UV curing equipment;

JGS3: Dedicated for infrared band, infrared temperature measurement, heating furnace window;

Ordinary transparent quartz sight glass: not subjected to precision optical polishing, only used for high-temperature boiler and pipeline observation windows, with high cost-effectiveness.


四 ,Main application scenarios

1. Industrial high-temperature sight glass

Boiler, reactor, pipeline impeller sight glass, heat treatment furnace, tin melting furnace observation window, replacing tempered borosilicate glass, high temperature does not crack.

2. Optical/laser equipment

Laser protection lens, UV curing machine window, spectrometer, microscope slide, sensor protection window, photovoltaic equipment transparent substrate.
