1. Introduction to Liquid Level Gauge Glass
Level Gauge Glass is a transparent observation window used to observe the height of liquid in containers, widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, power, and pharmaceuticals. It can withstand pressure, high temperature, and corrosive media, providing a safe and reliable liquid level monitoring solution for industrial processes.
2. Working principle of liquid level gauge glass
The liquid level gauge glass works based on the principle of a connector:
The liquid level gauge is connected to the container through upper and lower connecting pipes, and the height of the liquid in the glass tube is consistent with the liquid level in the container.
Through transparent glass tubes or flat glass, operators can directly observe changes in liquid level.
Some level gauges are equipped with fluorescent or magnetic displays to enhance visibility.
3. Main types of liquid level gauge glass
(1) Transparent liquid level gauge glass
Ordinary glass tube level gauge: suitable for low-pressure, non corrosive liquids such as water and oil.
High pressure mica level gauge: a combination of glass and mica sheets, resistant to high-pressure steam (commonly used in the boiler industry).
(2) Reflective level gauge glass
The surface is engraved with angular grooves, the liquid part is black, and the gas phase part is silver, making it easy to observe (such as a two-color water level gauge).
(3) Magnetic level gauge glass
The glass tube is equipped with a magnetic float and an external magnetic flip column display, suitable for opaque or high-temperature media.
(4) Frost proof liquid level gauge glass
Surface coating or special structure to prevent low-temperature frosting (used for liquefied natural gas LNG storage tanks).
4. Key performance requirements for liquid level gauge glass
Performance, requirements, application examples
Pressure resistance strength: 1.0MPa~32MPa (depending on working conditions), for high-pressure boilers and reactors
Temperature resistance: -50 ℃~400 ℃ (borosilicate glass can reach higher temperatures), high temperature steam, molten salt system
Corrosion resistance: acid, alkali, organic solvents (optional quartz glass), chemical storage tanks, acid-base liquid measurement
